I admit it, guys. I need a bar in my life.

No, not a bar where you drink, a bar that I can throw in my purse and eat!

As much as I tell you all to plan ahead and make most of your own foods, I have always acknowledged the need for some convenient foods. Life happens. Sometimes your kid screws up your cooking schedule or your getting out of the house on time schedule. Maybe you’re traveling and don’t have access to your own food. Maybe you’re like me and you are prone to hunger headaches if you don’t eat on the regular. I get it. That’s why I searched Amazon high and low until I found a bar that I like.

Sampling:

I encourage you to try all of the flavors before you order a full box. They have some kits on Amazon (left), but I actually found it was better to go through their website. If you use their website, you can request a special combination of bars. I can’t eat dairy, so I asked them to replace the Parmesan in the sampler kit with a non-dairy bar and they were happy to do so!

The Bars:

I have tried Epic Bars and didn’t personally care for them. I don’t remember why, but I think I remember being reminded of a giant slim-Jim. Bleh.

Wild Zora’s bars are NOTHING like a slim-Jim. They are meaty without being too jerky-like, and they’re not greasy at all. Some flavors are a little spicier or a little fruitier, but I wouldn’t say any bar is extreme in those ways. They are really quite fabulous!

You’ll notice a trend in my reviews below- if you like even a tiny bit of heat you’ll probably enjoy more flavors than I ultimately landed on. I fully acknowledge that I am a total and complete wuss, though. On a scale of 1-10, 10 being someone who can eat “Thai hot” food, I am approximately a negative 3.

Flavor low-down

  • Parmesan Beef – Didn’t try due to casein/dairy intolerance

  • Chili Beef – This was the spiciest bar I tried. I think my husband (who likes a little “kick”) will like it, but I wasn’t a huge fan. I would have liked it if it wasn’t for the heat.

  • BBQ Beef – Good! Well balanced, maybe a tad peppery? Sorry I didn’t take better notes on this one.

  • Turkey Cardamom – Very good! Tad peppery, but I am a whimp and I still thought it was good.

  • Curry Masala Turkey – Maybe a tad hot/peppery, but this one is my runner up.

  • Mediterranean Lamb – This is my favorite! Not hot/peppery at all, very good flavor, good balance between meat/veggie/sweet/spices. I just ordered two boxes today! 🙂

So there you have it, guys! I liked them all, but I really fell in love with the Lamb bar.

Ordering:

These are all available on their website as well as Amazon.

Note: The links in this article are called “affiliate links”, so if you buy something from my link I will get some kind of a commission. It’s probably like $0.03, but I figured what the heck, I’ll use them.
